Through the Benevolent Foundation, the Zetas of Charlotte award scholarships to deserving area high school students on an annual basis. The Sarah Scott Schofield scholarship was established in 2003 to recognize the achievements and future potential of graduatinghigh school seniors in Mecklenburg County and also to assist them financially with their pursuit of higher education.
The scholarship was named in honor of Sarah Scott Schofield, a charter member of the Delta Zeta Chapter. Through her career as an educator, Sarah Scott Schofield worked faithfully and tirelessly to help young people succeed in school. We cherish memory and life's work by continuing her legacy of helping students excel in education. Since the inception of the scholarship, the Zetas of Charlotte have awarded over $100,000 in college scholarships.
*The Sarah Scott Schofield Scholarship is open to African American female scholars attending high school in Mecklenburg County. Delta Zeta Chapter accepts scholarship applications in the winter and announces recipients in May. Questions may be directed to dzscholarship@zetasofcharlotte.org.
