Greetings From The Basileus

Dear Sorors:

As your new Basileus, I really want us to enjoy honoring our principals of service, sisterhood, scholarship and finer womanhood and I think we can easily achieve this through improved communication, commitment, and cooperation.

In light of that, my focus thus far has been working with you to improve our processes and procedures so that we can bloom as a beautifully as a rose. Since late spring, I created and hosted a series of workshops and training sessions to solicit your feedback (e.g. Thought Leadership Exchange and Summer Leader-ship Retreat), and also utilized your input to clarify expectations for our leader-ship team by creating Standard Operating Procedures for the Executive Board and Committee Chairs and to establish my vision and goals for our organizations which are included in this newsletter.

Now that the pathway has been set through the aforementioned brain-storming and consensus building sessions, the Executive Board is pleased to introduce you to our newly created “The Zeta Dove Soaring Above” quarterly newsletter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (Delta Zeta Chapter) and the Zetas of Charlotte Benevolent Foundation. We designed this newsletter with you in mind and will use it to recognize members for their creativity and follow-through, to reinforce our commitment to our founding principles and local goals, to shed the spotlight on our Committees and Community Partners and to share some of the key activities & decisions of the Executive Board, Commit-tee Chairs, and Zeta as a whole.

We are ladies of the dove, daring to shine the light of goodness in the darkest of corners, giving of ourselves so that others can succeed, and softly whispering the words of wisdom and confidence when all else seems lost. We are harbingers of hope and faith and I am so very pleased to have the opportunity to lead you and to partner with you for success.

Thank you for sharing your talents, your gifts, your time and your heart. The community needs us now more than ever and we couldn’t do it without you! Have a great year and keep blooming!
